She noticed like herself, many of her students struggled with learning to read. Bethany started writing small phonetic readers to help build confidence in her students and later progressed to writing children's bedtime story books.

Over the years Bethany wrote several Christmas stories and began a teen novel series.

Over her many years teaching Bethany tutored children ages 6 to 13 years that were having difficulty learning to read. She began writing stories for them, based on their interest to peek their fascination so they would want to read. One book lead to another from 2-3 letter phonetic words, to 2 and more letter phonetic readers, progressing to phonetic readers isolating a specific phonogram, next to bedtime stories and eventually a teen novel.

At present Bethany writes children stories ranging from phonetic readers to teen novels. It is her hope to spark inquisitiveness in struggling young readers so they too will persevere through the struggles of learning to read and begin to love books and reading as she does.
